Mr. Harvey Jerrel Howard of Wicksburg passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at his home. He was 73.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 29, 2017 in the Pilgrim Home Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Jerry Grandstaff and Rev. Vann Cooley officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing.
Mr. Howard was born March 30, 1944 in Holmes County, FL to the late Harvey Lee and Vera Peterson Howard. Jerrel was a proud veteran of the United States Army National Guard and retired from GTE after 23 years of service. After his retirement, he enjoyed working on the farm and tending his cattle but his greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren. He was a great husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, one infant daughter, Heather Howard; one brother, Perry Howard preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Peters Howard; daughter, Jaimee Glover (Slade); son, Scott Howard(Christi); grandchildren: Jackson Glover, Gabe Glover, Abby Grace Glover, Bo Howard, Jackson Templeton, Holland Templeton and Caroline Templeton; sisters: Gloria Jean Howard and Faye Cain (Elvie); brother, Roger Howard (Jacqueline); sister-in-law, Margaret Gibbs; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Slade Glover, Connel Driskell, Donnie Peters, Jerry Parrish, Elvie Cain and Trey Heard.
