Mrs. Edna Grace Vernon
Edna Grace Vernon, age 84, died at her home in Vernal on November 19, 1997.
She was born December 23, 1912 in Vernal, UT, a daughter of William Ashby and Alice McCain Ashby. She married Alton Jay Vernon on July 20, 1932 in the Manti LDS Temple, Manti, UT. He died December 28, 1991. Edna was an active member of Maeser 4th Ward.
She is survived by three sons and three daughters, Belva and husband, Joseph Calder, Vernal, UT; Alton Deloy and wife, Bonnie Vernon, Springville, UT; Glen K. and wife, Lorraine Vernon, Santa Clara, UT; Ray L. and wife, Anita Vernon, Keams Canyon, AZ; Shanna and husband, Ray Balhorn, Vernal, UT; Sue O'Steen, Springville, UT; 38 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Eldon Ashby, Mountrose, CO; Dale Ashby, Keno, OR.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 24, 1997, 11 a.m. in the Maeser 4th Ward LDS Chapel. Friends may call Sunday evening 6-8 p.m. at Thomson's Vernal Mortuary and Monday morning at the chapel from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Maeser Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Thomsons's Vernal Mortuary.
