Katie Neal, 51, of Gilmer passed away January 7, 2018 at her residence. She was born December 30, 1966 in Galveston.
At the age of four she moved with her family to Hillsboro where she grew up. She spent her senior year at Carthage High School graduating in 1985. Katie was first married to Don Gradberg and they had two sons together. After her marriage she attended Kilgore Junior College where she completed her training in Cosmetology. For many years she lived in East Texas to be with her boys. In 2005 she married Henry Neal and they lived in Longview for several years before settling in Gilmer.
A lover of the holidays, Katie always enjoyed setting up her decorations. She was always the family photographer and videographer for all events. She was of the Methodist faith.
Preceding her in death were her grand parents; J. N. and Estes Johnson. Survivors include her husband, Henry Neal, father, Dr. Skip Johnson and wife, Diane, mother, Charlotte Allison and husband, Wayne, two sons, Jeremy Gradberg and Jason Gradberg, three brothers, Chris Johnson, Brent Taylor and Doug Allison, two sisters, Shannon Taylor and Paula Allison, three grand children and many other extended family members.
Graveside services will be held January 11, 2018 at the Hickey Cemetery near Hillsboro.
