Joe passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at his home in Port Allen at the age of 91. He was a native of Lyman, OK and resident of Port Allen.

Joe was an Army Veteran and retired from Viking Distributors and then went back to work at Port Allen Hardware for at least 20 years.

Visiting will be at Wilbert Funeral Home in Port Allen on Thursday, January 11th from 9 a.m. until time of religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by Rev. Gray Pearson. Burial will follow in Grace Memorial in Plaquemine.

Joe is survived by his wife of 70 years, Katie Snellgrove Patton of Port Allen; four sons, Robert Patton of Walker, Patrick Patton, Thomas Patton, both of Baton Rouge and David Patton and wife Renee’ of Denham Springs; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth Patton and Earl Patton; sister, Patsy Duck all of New Iberia.

Joe was preceded in death by his daughter, Bridget E. Patton; parents, Joseph Sr. and Icile Epley Patton; and a beloved granddaughter, Amy.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Patton, John Patton, Gary Mumphrey, Sean Bennett, Andy Patton and Eric Patton.

Joe was a member of First Baptist Church of Port Allen. He was a generous man and great father who adored his children and grandchildren.
