Agnes M. Snyder, 95, died quietly early Saturday, January 6, 2018 in Indianapolis at the home of her daughter, Julie.

She was born Agnes Mary McGraw on April 5, 1922 at the family farm in Goodland, IN, the youngest of 6 children of the late John L. McGraw and Katherine F. (Bower) McGraw.

Agnes was a graduate of Goodland High School and St Elizabeth's School of Nursing in Lafayette. She was employed at St E's where she met a patient, John William Snyder. They married on August 3, 1946, in Goodland, IN. They celebrated 54 years of marriage before his death in 2000.

Agnes was a devoted member of St Lawrence Catholic Church and its quilting group. She could knit, tat and sew nearly anything. She enjoyed attending her annual high school and nursing school reunions, but enjoyed family reunions most of all. Of her family's history, she was a wealth of knowledge with a memory like a "steel trap"! She was a competitor. She played Bridge, Euchre, "Words with Friends" and hated losing. She especially hated losing at Scrabble. (We won't even discuss her games against Aunt Dorothy.) She was a good cook. Always included potatoes or bread, but never learned how to cook for less than an army.

She is survived by seven children; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law; and 22 nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Agnes was preceded in death by three sisters, Lillian Downes, Dorothy McGraw and Anna Scheetz; four brothers, John McGraw, Gerald McGraw, Edward McGraw and Edmond McGraw; one niece; one nephew; great-grandson, Hunter Snyder; granddaughter, Korrianne Lundstrom; four sister-in-laws; and one brother-in-law.
