Howard Thomas Carter, 78, husband of Juanita Carter, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2018 surrounded by his family at his home. Howard was born on July 11, 1939 in Versailles, KY, the son of the late George Wesley and Bertha Lue Clark Carter. He was a 1956 graduate of Versailles High School and served as a CPL in the United States Army. Howard retired from IBM after 30 years in the mailroom operation. After his retirement from IBM he worked night security for Kentucky Utilities. Howard was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy and a classic car enthusiast.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George W. Carter and Bertha Clark Carter Maloney, son, George Marion Carter, sister, Virginia Doris Carter, and brother, Ernest Reece Carter. He is survived by his loving wife, Juanita Miracle Carter, Versailles, daughter, Tommie Carter, Bardstown, step-sons, Eugene McDaniel, Mt. Sterling, Nealy McDaniel, Versailles, step-daughter, Norita McDaniel, Versailles, brothers, Donald E. (Ruth) Carter, Jackie W. (Addie) Carter, both of Lawrenceburg, grandchildren, Josh Logan, Matthew Logan, Jeremiah Duke, five step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in Rose Crest Cemetery, Woodford County, Kentucky.
