Funeral services for Mr. Marvin L. Wallace, age 89, will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, Springhill, LA, with Rev. Ronald Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 9, 2018, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Wallace was born on January 31, 1928 to James Hugh and Eva Heflin Byers Wallace in Ringgold, LA and passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at his home in Springhill. He was a member of Central Baptist Church, was U. S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict, and was retired from International Paper after 37 years of service. He enjoyed fishing and tinkering in his shop, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Bobbie Moore Wallace; son, Terry Wallace of Springhill; daughter, Vicki Wyrick and husband, Kenneth of Magnolia, AR; six grandchildren, Brad Wallace and wife, Becky, Chris Wallace and wife, Ashlee, Sara Whitt and husband, Morgan, Wesley Wyrick and wife, Megan, Seth Wyrick and fiancé, Cooper Fisher, Jared Wyrick and Morgan Kelley; seven great-grandchildren, Blayne Farrington, Gray Wallace, Sullivan Wallace, Gaines Wallace, Kyla Whitt, Sadie Wallace, Autymn Whitt; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Wallace was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, James Orville Wallace and William Laurie Wallace.
Pallbearers will be Brad Wallace, Chris Wallace, Wesley Wyrick, Seth Wyrick, Jared Wyrick, Blayne Farrington, Morgan Whitt, and Troy Crook.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, American Heart Association, or Gideons International.
