Espy Street owned a sawmill and a store during his lifetime. He owned a farm near Antioch and also some land near Falkner. When his first wife died, he and his three little boys lived with his parents, until he married again after two years, but the boys still mostly lived with their grandparents. He died August 12, 1930 from Cancer of the stomach. He is buried at Antioch Cemetery.
His obituary reads -- Mr. E.E. Street, age 60, died at his home north of Antioch on Tuesday August 12, 1930, and was buried in Antioch Cemetery on Wednesday afternoon. Mr Street was a well known citizen of that section of the county, and will be much missed by his large number of relatives and friends. He is survived by his wife and three children, J.T., William and Frank.
Another Obit reads---Ib August 12, 1930 the death angel visited our section and took the spirit of Brother E. E. Street to God who gave it. There to remain until the resurrection morning when it will come back to earth to reunite with the body that was laid to rest in the cemetery on August 13. Brother Street was born October 4, 1870, age 60 years, 10 months and 8 days. He was married to Miss Charity Weatherly in 1880 and to this union was born J.T., F.Z, and W.E. Street, who still survive him. After she died March 11, 1900, on February 26, 1902, he was married to Miss Alice White whom he leaves to mourn his death. Bro Street professed religion about 30 years ago but had never joined any church. He lived an honest upright Christian life. Bro Street's remains were tenderly laid to rest in Antioch Cemetery on August 13th surrounded by a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. S. W. Pearce assisted by Bro Johnny Huddleston. To the bereaved ones we would say weep not your loved one has gone to Glory and will be at the beautiful gate waiting and watching for each one of you to come. Bro Street leaves four brothers, F.A., J.N., J.D., and Calvin Street and one sister, Miss Lizzie Street. May God's richest blessing rest on all the sorrowing ones is the prayer of the writer. A lifelong friend. S. W. Pearce.
