Joe Tom Green, 81, of Lebanon, died Wednesday, March 19, 2014, in Lebanon.
He was born June 6, 1932, at Morgan, Mo. to Israel and Bertha Calton Green.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Lloyd (Red), Leo (Bud), and Calton Green; two sisters, Willie Officer and Mae Green; also a great-granddaughter, Kenadee Moore.
On June 16, 1975, he married Opal Dampier.
He started at Detroit Tool before graduation, retiring as vice president after 42 years of service. He was also a Laclede County farmer and an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
He was a member and helped build Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Opal Green, of the home; three sons, Billy J. Green and his wife, Debbie, of Lebanon; Jimmy Green and his wife, Pam, of Springfield, and Stan Green and his wife, Janette, of Phillipsburg; a stepson, Chris Moore and his wife, Karla, of Phillipsburg; a daughter, Melissa Green Dereberry, of Rolla; a brother, Carl Green and his wife, Edna, of Neosho; 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; the mother of his children, Marjorie Jinks Green, of Lebanon, also many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Joe Tom Green will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Bill England and Russell Randolph officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Rose Memorial Park, under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel.
A memorial has been established to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, and donations may be left or mailed to Shadel’s Colonial Chapel, 1001 North Lynn, Lebanon, Mo. 65536.
