David McKinley Lassiter, Sr. 83, of Princeton, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2017. He was born September 21, 1934 and was the son of the late Nathan and Effie Mae Pearce Lassiter. Mr. Lassiter was preceded in death by his wife, Mavis Elizabeth Honeycutt Lassiter, brothers: Nathan Lassiter, Jr., Paul Lassiter, Gardner Lassiter, Thurman Lassiter, Tommy Lassiter, and one sister, Edna Starling.

He had many interest, he had been employed by Stackhouse as a truck driver, he worked at Cherry Hospital in their Agriculture Department and he also was a farmer.

The funeral service will be conducted Thursday, December 28th at 7:00 pm in Casey Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Dennis Pollock and Reverend Mike Collier officiating. The committal will take place on Friday, December 29 at 11:00 am in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday, December 28th between 5:00 and 7:00 pm at Casey Funeral Home.

He is survived by a son, David Lassiter, Jr. and Terrie Taylor of Princeton, daughters: Darlene Stroud and Hank of Princeton, Deborah Hester and Harold of Princeton, Barbara Barnes and Glenn of Goldsboro, Laura Worley and Keith of Princeton, Wendy Creech and Billy of Princeton; brothers, Monk Lassiter, Rock Lassiter, and sister; Marjorie Pipkins, 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
