Roberta E. Hall, of Gosport, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Monroe Hospital in Bloomington. She was born March 8, 1922 in Avoca to Ray and Truly (Turner) DeFord. She was a graduate of Spencer High School and worked several jobs including RCA, owned and operated Hall’s Grocery store with her husband, and ran a beauty shop out of her home. She attended Spencer Baptist Church. She enjoyed knitting, singing, doing hair, mowing her yard, her pets and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her sister, Jacqueline (Jim) Poradek of Minneapolis, MN, sister-in-law Marilyn DeFord of Spencer, nieces and nephews, Wally (Kathy) DeFord, Beth (Bret) Eaton, David (Becky) DeFord, Drexel DeFord Jr., Maria (Bill) Emerson, James (Katharine) Poradek, several great nieces and nephews and great- great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles Hall, siblings, Juanita Stines, Vestel DeFord, Drexel DeFord, Sr., Jack DeFord, niece Truly Stines, and nephew Rod Stines.
Funeral services will be held, 2pm, Friday, January 12, 2018 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer. Pastors Bret Eaton and Mark Wooten will officiate. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12pm until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
