Obituary for Rosalie R. Smith
Rosalie Roberta Smith, age 94, of Iron Mountain, MI passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Florence Health Services in Florence, WI.
Rosalie was born November 18, 1928 in Petoskey, MI, daughter of the late James "Floyd" and Bertha (Nelson) Turk.

She graduated from Petoskey High School and went on to get certified as a LPN.

Rosalie married Arden Smith on Sept. 21, 1948 in Alanson, MI. The couple enjoyed almost sixty-nine years of marriage before Arden preceded her in death in 2017.

Rosalie worked as a nurse at Flint General and Mackinac Straits Hospitals and was a business owner of Smith Adult Foster Care Home in Iron Mountain. She had a strong faith and was a member at Evangelical Covenant Church and the Homestead Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Zonta Club. She enjoyed solving puzzles, watching birds and was an avid Green Bay Packer Fan.

Rosalie is survived by six children: Michael (Jean) Smith of Charlevoix, MI, Gary (Geraldine) Smith of Homestead, Steve (Patty) Smith of Iron Mountain, Charles (Denise) Smith of Iron Mountain, Susan (David) Marihugh of Harbor Springs, MI, and Ronald Smith of Iron Mountain;
brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: Vernor (Pat) Smith, Nancy Smith and Bonnie Smith;
17 grandchildren and their spouses, 44 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister Velma Ward;
brothers: Merlin Hughey and Harold Turk;
grandchildren, Nicole Smith & Ryandavid Marihugh;
great granddaughter, Ava Simmons;
and a daughter-in-law, Diane Smith.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 20 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm and on Friday, July 21 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Norway. The Order of the Eastern Star will conduct services at 6:00 pm on Thursday at the church. The funeral service will be on Friday at 11:00 am at the church. Rev. James Danielson will officiate. Burial will be in Iron Mountain Cemetery Park.
