Jackson - Samuel Harvey White, Jr. born in Ethel, MS on July 11, 1934 went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 22, 2017 after a prolonged battle with Alzheimers disease. A devoted and loving husband, he was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Martha Josephine Sumrall White.

Sam was a graduate of Mississippi College where he received a B.S. in Accounting and an MBA. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. Sam was a captain of finance and industry. In his early professional days as Hospital Administrator of the University Hospital, he was instrumental in the founding of the Methodist Rehabilitation Center and served as the Chief Administrator for several years. His entrepreneurial business acumen led him to co-found and prosper the following businesses: Kidney Care, Inc., HealthCare Suppliers, Medical Enterprises, Ltd. and Professional Building Services. Sam served as deacon at First Presbyterian Church of Jackson for many years. Sam's favorite past times were playing tennis, traveling, and sailing the North Sound of the B.V.I.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Harvey White, Sr. and Wilkie Barnes White, his twin sisters, Reida White Palmer and Ruth White Lane. He is survived by his daughters, Katherine McLaurin White Rader of Dallas, TX and Isabel Ingram White Sullivan of Mandeville, LA. He was the proud grandfather of 7 grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held in Hutton Chapel of First Presbyterian Church on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. and visitation will begin an hour prior at 9:30 a.m.
