Liam Pesce, 60, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017, at Waterbury Hospital.

Liam was born Sept. 24, 1958, in Waterbury, son of the late William and Margaruite (O’Donovan) Pesce. He was a 1976 graduate of Holy Cross High School and earned his associate’s degree in criminal justice from Naugatuck Valley Community College.

Liam proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was currently working as a sergeant in the Hartford Police Department for the past 14 years, and had retired from the Waterbury Police Department after 21 years, earning the rank of lieutenant. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Saint Anthony Council No. 56 in Litchfield, the Italian Officers Club of the Hartford Police Department, and a former member of the Pontelandolfo Community Club.

He leaves his children, Jeffrey Landry and his wife, Kelly, of Portland, Justin Pesce of Waterbury, Taylor Pesce, Liam Pesce, Kylie Pesce and Baylie Pesce, all of Northfield; his siblings, Nicholas D. Pesce and his wife, Nancy, Joseph Pesce and his wife, Kathleen, all of Thomaston, Wayne Pesce and his wife, Alane, of Middlebury, Louise Pesce of Waterbury, Diedre Colon and her husband, Alban, and Margaruite “Peggy” Pesce, all of Wolcott, John Pesce and his wife, Leila, of Northfield; two grandchildren, Mariella Landry and Hanna Landry; and many of nieces and nephews.
