Robert "Bob" (Cowboy) L. Monnette, 78, formerly of West Allis, passed away Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 2017 at Rennes Health Care Center-West. Born Dec. 12, 1939, in the Town of Little River, to the late Alphonse and Glorianna (Noack) Monnette, he attended school in the Town of Peshtigo. An active member and volunteer of Pentecostals of Wisconsin Church of West Allis, in 1971, he married his first wife Sharon Garner of Menekaunee, and she preceded him in death in 1996. He married his second wife, Sylvia Nielsen of Green Bay in 1998. He found the Lord many years ago as a religious man and his most used phrase was "Praise the Lord". He liked being called the Cowboy and was ready for the Lord to take him. He enjoyed music on his transistor radio and his door was open to help those less fortunate than him. He is survived by five sisters, Jane Hinds, Donna (Milfred) Behnke, Judy Seelbach, Beverly Monnette (John Thomson) and Margaret (Jack) Biddy; 10 brothers, Clyde (Nancy), Wayne, Dale (Angie), Richard (Audrey), Randy (Rhea), Alphonse Jr., Terry (Diana), Mark (Colene), Lamont and Paul (Courtney); many nieces; nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Alphonse in 1991; his mother Glorianna in 2006; an infant sister, Barbara; an infant brother, Dean; his first wife, Sharon in 1996; his second wife, Sylvia in 2012; brothers-in-law, Bob LaValley, Pete DeCloux, Robert Hinds and John Seelbach; ex-brother-in-law, Dave Hipke and a sister-in-law, Sheila Monnette. A private family Memorial Service will be held. Burial will be in the Oconto Catholic Cemetery. Thielen Funeral Home of Marinette is assisting the family with arrangements.
