Jean, age 53, passed away at the Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. She was the daughter of Winton and Winifred (Watson) Weathers. She graduated from Salina High School in 1982 and from Kansas State University in 1986 with a degree in Psychology and Women’s Studies. She married Lee Platz on December 21, 1991.
Survivors include her husband, her step-daughter, Jodie Platz, and her brother, Gary Weathers.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Laura Weathers and Mary Schlarbaum.
A Celebration of Life was held at Campanella-Evans Mortuary in Wamego.
