Abigail Clap Hartshorn-Smith was the daughter of Lieut. Joshua and Abigail (Bullard) Clap. She married #1 Benjamin Hartshorn February 21, 1760 in Walpole. (He died in 1784 and is buried in Old Burial Ground) They lived near this burial mound. Together they had at least 5 children (Abigail 1762, and Lewis 1764, Pliney abt. 1769-1807, Lydia 1778-1839, and Eliphalet P. 1782-1856). Abigail married #2 Capt. Jeremiah Smith October 2, 1788. (He is buried in Terrace Hill Cemetery).
