Mr. Carnes was retired from GE after 30 years.
He was preceded in rest by his wife, Mable, and brother, Allan Carnes.
Mr. Carnes is survived by his children, William Edward "Eddie" Carnes (Marie), Theresa Carman (Jay) and Tommy Carnes (Denise); five grandchildren, Jason Edward Carnes, Chris Carman, Austin Carman, Graham Carnes and Peyton Carnes; two great-grandchildren, Emily and Jackson Carnes; two brothers, Delbert and Bobby Carnes; and three sisters, Betty Skaggs, Joanne Burkhead and Joyce Nibbelin.
His funeral will be on Thursday at 10am at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway, with interment following in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2pm until 8pm at the funeral home.
