CARNES, MABEL LOUISE, 78, formerly of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2008, at Flaget Hospital, in Bardstown, KY.

She was a homemaker, quilt-maker, resident of Bloomfield, KY, where she has lived since 1990, and a member of Bloomfield Baptist Church. She was a former member of Beechland Baptist Church and was a member of the homemaker society at both churches.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Geneva Terry.

She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, James Edward Carnes; daughter, Theresa Carman (Jay); sons, Tommy (Denise) and Eddie Carnes (Marie); brother, Ewing Pilkington (Betty); grandchildren, Jason, Chris, Austin, Graham and Peyton; and great-grandchildren, Emily and Jackson.

Her funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday at J.B. Ratterman & Sons-Southwest, 4832 Cane Run Road, with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
