Robert “Hoss” LeGrande Crews, Sr., 80, of Midgett Farm Road, Concord, died Monday, December 25, 2017. He was the husband of Carolyn Carter Crews.
Born in Appomattox County, on September 27, 1937, he was a son of the late Auguster Mayberry and Charlie Burton Crews. He was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church and the Reedy Spring Masonic Lodge #203 A.F. & A.M.
In addition to his wife he is survived by three daughters, Melissa Crews Mixon and husband, Sean of Rustburg, Melanie Faith Crews of Rustburg, and Jennifer Lynne Bohannon and husband, Michael of Concord; two sons, Robert L. Crews, Jr. and wife, Michelle of Huddleston and Brandon Ryan Crews of Concord; 10 grandchildren, Crystal Crews, Wyatt Crews, Amber Burleigh, Joseph Younger, III, Landen Wade, Braylen Crews, Isabella Wade, Gabriel Bohannon, Kayley Crews, and Christian Crews; and four great-grandchildren, Kassidy Crews, Madison Crews, Kinley Burleigh, and Aaliyah Crews; two sisters-in-law, Priscilla Elliott and Frances Martin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by two brothers, Andrew Burton Crews and Charles Lewis Crews.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Friday, December 29, 2017, at Robinson Funeral Home with burial following in Concord Cemetery.
A Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, December 28, at Robinson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service until 8:30 p.m.
