Lenette Ann Holland Murphy, 81, of Union Grove, passed away peacefully, Monday, December 18, 2017, at the Gordon Hospice House.

Born February 20, 1936, in Iredell County she was the youngest daughter of the late Quince T. Holland and Blanche Tutterow Holland.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Betty Johnson, Nellie Foreman, Gladys Ginnetti, Ila "Boots" Monico, and Laura Wike, three brothers, Carroll, Richard "RB", and Herbert Holland, four half-brothers, Sam, George, Adron, and Claude Holland. She was also preceded in death by a very special nephew, Joe Holland.

Lenette was a graduate of Union Grove High School. She became a military wife, living in places of Morocco, N. Africa, Okinawa, Japan and California before returning to North Carolina. Lenette then worked as personnel manager at Lydall Westex until her retirement. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 2031 in Statesville. She very much enjoyed travel and entertaining.

She was a member of Zion Baptist Church and participated in Vacation Bible school. She loved her church family.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 23, 2017, at Zion Baptist Church in Union Grove with Rev. Joey Tomlin officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
