He was employed as a designer of telephone switching equipment at GTE Automatic Electric, later Fujitsu, in Northlake, Illinois, and retired many years ago.
He is survived by his daughters, Kathleen (Prakash) Thatte and Kristine (Ross) Oakland; grandson Dr. Todd (Dr. Marissa Cardwell) Oakland; granddaughter Sara (Brian) Bates; great granddaughter
Blair Bates; and his sisters Dorothy Gustafson and Elaine Barry.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 2014.
