Evia Estelene (O’Dell) Hanners, age 95, of Casey, IL went to live with God at 6:50 p.m. on Monday, December 11, 2017 at Heartland Nursing Center, Casey, IL.

She was born September 14, 1922 in Jasper County, IL the daughter of Thomas Albert O’Dell and Clara Alma Byram O’Dell. On September 21, 1940 she married George T. Hanners in Newton, IL. He passed away on November 22, 1979.

Survivors include her daughter, Helen Lee of Martinsville, IL; sister, Dottie Milbourn of Casey, IL; sons in law, Dennis Pine of Martinsville, IL and Bill Rardin of Casey, IL; grandsons, Bill (Lori) Rardin, Brent Rardin, Kirk (Donna) Rardin, Andrew (Amy) Rardin and Joseph Pine; several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces who had a special love for their aunt. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughters, Barbara Rardin and Betty Pine; brother, Virgil O’Dell; sisters, Faye Slane, Ruth Michaels, Opal Breese, Anna Denney, Mavis Shobe and Lucille Newlin; son in law, James O. Lee; granddaughter in law, Jennifer Rardin and great grandson, Aurek Rardin.

Evia was a homemaker, worked at TRW and was a CNA at Heartland Nursing Center. She enjoyed collecting redbirds. “Our family chain is broken, And nothing is the same, But as God calls us one by one, The chain will link again.”

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Markwell Funeral Home with Pastor Justin Janney officiating. Burial will follow in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 10 – 11 a.m. prior the service at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
