John LaVar Monson, 83, our loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, died at home on November 29, 1981 of a heart attack.
Born October 3, 1891 in Manti, Utah to John Fredrick and Annie Bleak Monson. Graduated from West High School, Salt Lake City and attended LDS Business College. Married Julia Clinger, April 8, 1920 in the Logan LDS Temple. He was a High Priest in the Yale 2nd Ward and a veteran of World War I.
Survivors: wife, Salt Lake City; one daughter and two sons, Mrs. H. James (Myrth M.) Hamilton, Wendell L. Monson, Salt Lake City, Keith C Monson, Redding, California, one brother, Blake Monson, Anaheim, California, 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by three brothers and two grandsons.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 2, 1981 at 1:00 p.m. in the Yale 2nd LDS Ward Chapel, 1431 Gilmer (1000 South). Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
