Mr. Adolph died at 4:29 p.m. Sunday (May 18, 2003) at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center, Logan Campus, Danville.

He was born Jan. 27, 1923, in Garrett Township, a son of Leroy Lester and Emma W. Hansen Adolph. He married Verna Unverferth on Jan. 24, 1959, in Michigan. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Robert L. Adolph of Danville and Greg H. Adolph of Oakwood; a brother, Ed Adolph of Georgetown; eight grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by a son and a sister.

Mr. Adolph served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked in refrigeration maintenance at Kraft in Champaign. He was a member of Fithian United Methodist Church and Illiana Pigeon Club. He was a baseball and softball coach for Oakwood Little League.
