Grace Noel, 84, of Hayti, Mo., died Friday, March 16, 2007, at the Caruthersville Nursing Home in Caruthersville, Mo.
Born Jan. 22, 1923, in Pemiscot County, Mo., daughter of the late Frank and Mae Jackson Pollard, she was a member of the Pemiscot County Historical Society and a Gary Lady Volunteer at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti.
On Oct. 10, 1940, in the Concord community near Hayti, she married Ernest Noel, who preceded her in death on March 13, 1993. She was also preceded in death by and infant daughter; two sons, William and Norman; one brother, Lloyd Pollard and one sister, Hazel Quinn.
Survivors include three daughters, Nancy Lavern Cook and Joyce Kay Pierce and husband, George, all of Caruthersville and Alice Poe and husband, David, of Dyersburg, Tenn.; three sisters, Kathleen Fowler and Roberta Lewis, both of Hayti and Betty Smith, of Benton Harbor, Mich.; eight grandchildren, Genia Harrison, of Lexington, Ky., Noel Cook, of Hayti, Chris Cook, of Kennett, Renee Cook, and G.W. and Michael Pierce, all of Caruthersville and Allen and Brian Poe, both of Dyersburg; seven great-grandchildren, John-Rocco, Avery and Kaylee Harrison, all of Lexington, Lynzi and C.J. Cook, both of Hayti and Samantha Oleson and Wyatt Poe, both of Sioux Falls, S.D., and special friend, Harold Luye, of Bragg City, Mo.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 18, at the John W. German Funeral Home in Hayti with the Rev. Paul Quinn officiating.
Burial was in the Dry Bayou Cemetery near Hayti.
Pallbearers were Toby Lewis, Rodney and Billy Quinn, and Faron, Carrie and Lennie Fowler.
Honorary pallbearers were James and Jimmy Lee Wilson, Jimmy Metzer, Boots Cross and Ralph Ball.
