Kathryn “Kathy” E. Gray, lovingly known as "The Deputy," passed away peacefully on November 28 at the Tippett Home in Needham, MA from complications related to liver cancer.
Born on December 1, 1959, in Natick, MA, she was the daughter of Norman Gray Jr. and the late Catharine “Katie” Gray.
She was the loving fiancée of Keith Trethewey of 10 years.
In addition to her fiancé, she is survived by her two beloved daughters, Ashlee Elland and her fiancé Jaime Rodriguez of Brooklyn, NY and Kelsi (Gray) O’Rourke and her husband David O’Rourke of Norfolk, MA; two brothers, Norman Gray III of Wrentham, MA and Noah Gray of San Francisco, CA; and three nieces.
She was predeceased by her sister, Dawn Gray and her nephew, Olaf “Keough” Erickson.
Kathy was raised in both Medfield, MA and Dennis, MA and graduated from Dennis-Yarmouth High School. Kathy worked for Siemens Healthcare for the last 21 years. She loved spending her time at the beach, playing pool, spending time with family and friends, as well as watching the New England Patriots play every Sunday.
Kathy was a very outgoing, fun loving person and made friends with everyone. She could not go out of the house without running into someone she knew. If asked, her proudest accomplishment in life is her children and watching them succeed.
Friends and family are cordially invited to honor and remember Kathy by gathering for visitation Saturday, December 9 from 10-1 at Roberts Mitchell Caruso Funeral Home, 15 Miller Street Medfield, MA followed by a funeral service at 1 pm. Burial will immediately follow at Vine Lake Cemetery, 625 Main St. Medfield, MA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Newton-Wellesley Hospital’s Vernon Cancer Center.
