Died: Tue., Jul. 18, 2017 R. Suzanne B. Nichols, age 89, formerly of Cambridge City, passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Heritage House in Connersville with her family present. She was born on February 17, 1928 in Wayne County to Earl and Maude Revilee Butler and had lived most of her life in the Cambridge City area.
After graduation from Lincoln High School she attended Purdue University. She had worked at McDonalds for 20 years. Suzanne was a member of Cambridge City Christian Church where she was very active, singing in the choir, working with Vacation Bible School and taught Sunday school. She loved nature and talking to people, especially children and was also a den mother for a Dublin Cub Scout Pack. Hobbies included working with horses in 4-H, knitting, crocheting gardening and canning vegetables. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed taking her children to the library.
Survivors include her children Lindsey R. Nichols, Kristina A. (James) Gilley and Brian M. (Lisa) Nichols; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; a sister Marilyn Sutherlin; nieces and nephews.
Including her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Hugh L. Nichols in 2008; a son Roger Nichols in 2012; siblings Earl Butler Jr, Roberta Kidwell and Virginia Collings.
Friends may gather at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City from 10:00 am until start of services at 12:00 noon on Saturday, July 22, 2017. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City. Danny Barry will be officiating.
