All of his life, Wes enjoyed writing poetry. Being the middle child between an older sister and younger brother may have helped provide many life experiences to write about.
More life lessons came when Wes enlisted in the U.S. Army and served from 1952 – 1960 during the Korean Conflict.
He married Jerrie Fletcher in 1957 and they lived in Spokane for a brief time and Wes was a fireman before moving to Tucson, Arizona.
They lived in Arizona for many years where he owned and operated his own concrete business "Scott Concrete". Wes was a talented contractor and as a hobby he loved to build beautiful water fountains.
He had a ranch in Colorado that he loved to spend time at, continued to write his poetry, and found time for fishing and boating when he could.
His son Michael passed away in 2003 and sadly his wife Jerrie died just one year later.
Wes moved to Spokane in 2007 and found happiness again when he married longtime family friend Shirley Cook Grubbs in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho on his birthday, June 24, 2009.
They spent several happy years together in Spokane and Wes was lovingly accepted into her family as if he'd always been there.
Survivors names omitted per findagrave policy.
In addition to son Michael and first wife Jerrie he was preceded in death by his sister, Charlotte Ehlen and by his parents.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Spokane EMT's or to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, Inc. 912 Killian Hill Road S.W., Lilburn, GA 30047
