Everett was born October 13, 1905, in Des Moines. He worked at Iowa Packing Co. for 42 years. He belonged to the Shrine for 50 years. Everett was an avid golfer and bowler. He enjoyed pool, dancing and music and especially loved his grandchildren and great-grandkids.
He is survived by his daughter, Jan Mulcahy; his grandchildren, Christy Grubb, Steve (Clareann) Burgess, Tim (Gayle) Burgess, Sherry (Charlie) Ward, Pam (Jeff) Court, and Kelli (Scott) Seid; his eleven great-grandchildren and his three step grandchildren and his good friend Noreen Goodspeed.
Everett was preceded in death by his parents, Orin and Elizabeth Burgess; his siblings, Ben, Frank, Orin, Bill, Florence and Lillian; his wife, Veva Burgess; his son, Jack Burgess and daughter-in-law, Marge and his son-in-law, Bud Mulcahy.
Memorial contributions may be made to Park Avenue Christian Church or Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House.
