Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Stollberg, 84, of Two Rivers, who died Friday
night at the Two Rivers municipal hospital, were held at 1:30 this afternoon at
the Klein and Stangel Inc., funeral home, and at 2 o'clock at St. John Lutheran
church in Two Rivers. Burial was in Pioneers Rest cemetery.
She was born Bertha Kasten in 1864 in Germany and when a child her parents came
here, locating in the Tannery district north of Two Rivers. In 1884 she was
married to Theodore Stollberg. Her husband operated a tavern in Two Rivers and
later they farmed in the town of Two Rivers. He died in 1937.
In 1941 she moved to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Walter Zander, in the town
of Two Rivers.
Survivors include a son, Dr. L.A. Stollberg; and three daughters, Mrs. Roland
Bleser and Mrs. Gordon Kunz of Two Rivers, and Mrs. Walter Zander of the town
of Two Rivers. She also had nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A
sister, Mrs. Hulda Boehringer, also survives.
