Obituary for Teresa Lynn Fee

Teresa Lynn Fee, 64, of Colfax, passed away November 30, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines after courageously battling cancer for nearly four years. In rememberance, a Celebration of Life Gathering and Service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Melcher-Dallas. Family will receive friends from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. followed by a service at 4:00 p.m. Because of her love for animals, any memorial donations may be directed to the Marion County Humane Society.

Teresa (Teri) was born April 29, 1953 to Jerry and Dolores Noftsger Schrader. She was raised in Melcher-Dallas, the oldest of four children; she welcomed Bruce, Brenda, and Alisa into her life as friends and siblings. Teri graduated from the Iowa School of Beauty and began a life long career as a beautician; a career she loved that fit into her passion for fasion. Teri started her career at Verma’s Salon in Knoxville, where she spent over twenty years. Her career would take her back to Iowa School of Beauty as a teacher in the art before finishing out her career with Great Clips Salon in the Des Moines and Altoona areas.

When thinking about Teri, many will remember her for her love of life; her carefree personality; her willingness to help a friend; and her great sense of fashion and beauty which could be seen throughout her home with decorations incorporating Marilyn Monroe. She was very close to her family and cherished the time spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, extended family and friends. She often remarked on how people were too busy anymore and encouraged them to slow down, visit and enjoy life. She loved the warmth of the sun and the wind in her hair. Anyone looking for Teri could usually find her basking in the sun or on the back of a motorcycle, as long as there wasn’t country music playing. Teri’s huge heart could easily be seen in her love of animals and especially, her love for her “kitties”.

Teri was preceded in death by her parents: Jerry and Dolores Schrader; and her sister, Brenda Baumann. She will be greatly missed by her siblings: Bruce Schrader and Alisa (Daryl) Breese; children: Ann (Derek) McGill, Todd (Melissa) Fee, and Troy (Chelsea) Fee; six grandchildren: Meranda (Zach) McKinney, Colten McKinney, Kaylee (Austin) Wolfkill, Garret McGill, Lilly Fitzgerald, and Kaydin Fee; two great grandchildren: Jaxson Schipper and Willow Schipper; along with many relatives and friends.
