ARTHUR E. BACON, 91, of Coldwater Lake, Coldwater, Mich., and formerly of Fort Wayne, Ind., passed away on Friday, Dec. 1, 2017, at the Town House Retirement Center, Fort Wayne, Ind. Born on Jan. 28, 1926 in Fort Wayne, Ind., he was the son of the late Samuel and Clara (Sharpenberg) Bacon. Arthur graduated from Concordia Lutheran High School, Fort Wayne, Ind. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Arthur was the owner of Regal Dry Cleaners, Fort Wayne, Ind. He was a member of the Lake George Lutheran Chapel, Fremont, Ind. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family, and playing dart ball. Survivors include his children, Arthur (Susan) Bacon of Columbia, Ill., Thomas Bacon of Butler, Ind., Stephen (Christine) Bacon of Coldwater, Mich., and Sandra (Thomas) Crabill of Fort Wayne, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and a sister, Emily Bacon of Garrett, Ind. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Frances "Bonnie" Bacon; sisters, Geraldine Lichtsinn, Lorene Conrad, Elaine Pfeiffer; and a brother, Samuel Bacon. Funeral Service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017 at Lake George Lutheran Chapel, 1540 W 800 N, Fremont, Ind., with calling prior to the service from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Pastor David A. Easterday officiating. Burial will follow services at Wilson Cemetery, Branch County, Mich. Memorial donations in his memory are requested to the Lake George Lutheran Chapel or to Heartland Hospice. Arrangements are under the direction of Beams Funeral Home of Fremont, Ind.
