Martha E. Reed, 94, of Estep Lane, Waverly died 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at her home in Waverly.
Martha was born September 19, 1923 in South Charleston, Ohio, the daughter of the late John Hibbert and Ruth (Drey) Queen.
She was also preceded in death by, husband, George Arthur Reed Jr., son, George Reed III, brothers, sister, daughter-in-law, son-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
Surviving are four children, eighteen grandchildren, and many great and great-great grandchildren, whom could always make her smile.
Besides being a farm wife and mother, Martha was employed by Noel’s Restaurant, Schmitt’s Restaurant, Stone Straw Factory, and retired from Parker-Hannifin Corporation, all of Waverly.
After retirement, she and Arthur toured the country until his death in 1990. She loved to travel and continued sharing vacations with her children. She also liked to sew and make crafts which she sold at festivals. She was life member of the F.O.E.. Ladies Auxiliary and active at Pleasant Hill Church.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Friday, December 1, 2017 at the BOYER FUNERAL HOME in Waverly with Pastor Dale Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Waverly Evergreen Union Cemetery, Denver Road.
Friends may call November 30, 2017 at Boyer Funeral Home from 4 to 7 P M and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
