James Earlis Marks, 53, 818 W. Hurlburt, died Tuesday (Sept. 5, 1989) at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born Aug. 28, 1936, in Bloomington, Mo., to James Thompson and Inez Marks.

Surviving are his mother of Mounds; two daughters, Brenda Marks and Denise King, both of Peoria; three sisters, Evangelist Rosa Warner of Detroit, Hazel Holt and Ora Branum, both of Peoria; and one brother, Willie Burnett of Rockford. He was preceded in death by two sisters.

He was last employed as a laborer for Caterpillar Inc.

Services will be at Rising Sun Baptist Church, the Rev. Isaac Humes will officiate, and burial will be in Springdale Cemetery.
