Julia Ann Mitchell, 69, of Rome, GA, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2016, upon arrival at a local hospital.

Mrs. Mitchell was born in Rome on October 16, 1946, daughter of the late Joseph Seaborn Summerville and Melba Julia Haynes Summerville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Duane Mitchell and Cleve Mitchell, a daughter, Martha Ann Mitchell, a brother, Terry Summerville, a sister, Sherry Mitchell, and two sons-in-law, Tony Ingle and Jeff Duck.

Mrs. Mitchell was a professional nanny, a dedicated Christian and was known as a giving, loving and generous person. She was a great gift giver, and loved to sing hymns and gospel music of all styles. She attended Model High School and the Carol Lynn Business School.

Survivors include her husband, William C. E. (Ed) Mitchell, to whom she was married September 22, 1968; two daughters, Cindy Kimbrell, Conyers, and Lynn Duck, Cave Spring; a brother, Joe Summerville, Rome; seven grandchildren, Aaron Ingle, Will Mitchell, Jake Mitchell, Tiffany Duck Beal, Chloe Duck, Jennifer Rogers and Alex Kimbrell; and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 8, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the Griffin Memorial Chapel of Daniel's Funeral Home with the Rev. Millie Kim and the Rev. Jackie Culberson officiating. Interment followed in Floyd Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers were Terry Duck, Curtis Stoner, Jody Summerville, Daryl Mansfield, Cliff Gibson and Ed Robertson.
