Christian was born Otto Kristian Hemming, the son of Otto Georg Hemming and Anna Aashilde Jakobsdatter Molfjeld.

He had nine siblings: Inga Marie, Anges Ashilde, Bessie Minnie, Jacob Ole, John Ezik, Alfred Jule, Hartwick Lenard, Ralph Omer, and George Noel.

Christian O. Hemming, 82, died Wednesday, August 15 at the Good Samaritan Center in Clearbrook.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 18 at 2 p.m. at the Cease Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Fisher officiating. Burial was at the Gran Cemetery, rural Bagley, with military honors by the Irvin Blix Post 16 of Bagley.
He was born in Norway November 10, 1901 to parents Otto and Anna Hemming and came to the United States as an infant.
The family first settled in Dawson, Minnesota, then to Hector, Minnesota and then moved to North Dakota.
He has lived here since 1923. He never married. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Irvin Blix Post 16 of the American Legion.
He is survived by a sister.
