KATHARINA (TINA) LANGEMAN Passed away peacefully at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital on Saturday, September 28, 2002, at the age of 91 years. Katharina Gendrichovna Bergen was born on March 15, 1911, in Dawlikanowa, Ufa, Russia where, as a child and teenager, she enjoyed participating in choir and other church and Sunday School activities. The family left Russia in 1928, resettled in Kitchener-Waterloo and became members at W-K United Mennonite Church. On September 10, 1932 she married George Braun. Tina and George had seven children. Tina is survived by her remaining children, son Jacob and Lily Braun of Richmond, BC; daughter-in-law Dianne Braun of McTier, ON; son John and Velda Braun of Seattle, WA; son Henry and Sara Braun of Cassopolis, MI; daughter Linda Smith of Waterloo, ON; and daughter Betty Anna and Andrew Mooser of Kitchener, ON. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Predeceased by sons, Alfred, Walter; husbands, George Braun and Henry Langeman. Tina was the last surviving member of her family. Tina was an industrious and thrifty homemaker and was an active steward in the church. She devoted much time to quilting and was a charter member of the WKUM Missions Circle. After the passing of her first husband George in 1950, Tina felt much support from the church and from those closest to her. Through all of this, Tina retained her distinct and playful sense of humour. In 1957, Tina remarried to Henry Langeman with who she spent 25 very happy years until his passing in 1981. Until recently, Tina lived independently in an apartment on Mary Street. Tinas family received friends and relatives at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, Monday 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and will receive friends today (Tuesday) 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at K-W United Mennonite Church, Waterloo on Wednesday, October 2 at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. David Rogalsky officiating. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery, Waterloo. As expressions of sympathy, donations to MCC would be greatly appreciated by the family by calling the funeral home at 519-745-8445 or www.edwardrgood.com Oma, we will miss you.
