Douglas Borg, 86, died on April 18, 2002 after struggling a battle of Alzheimer's.
Born on Feb. 15, 1916 to Walter E. and Cecil Bowen Borg. He graduated from Jordan High School, served his country in the Navy during World War II. Retired from the Union Pacific Railroad after 30 years. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was active in the Grant Fourth Ward.
Married Naomi Park in the Salt Lake Temple on June 27, 1940. After her death, he married Mildred Ketner.
He is survived by his daughter, Connie Hines; son, Mark D. Borg; grandchildren, Candice, Josh, Matthew, Jason, Shannon and Angela; step-children, Susan Ketner, Joel Ketner (Judy), and Jill Sissel (Mark); six step-grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Naomi, and Mildred; and his siblings, Elsie, Alvin and Glenn.
A special "thank you" to his neighbors on Hudson and Judith Avenues, and Midtown Manor for their years of care.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 22, at 12 noon at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment, Midvale City Cemetery.
