Boyd “Coke” Anders, 88, of Colona, passed away November 23, 2017 at Heartland in Moline. Funeral services are 10 AM Tuesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 pm Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Boyd was born April 21, 1929 in Unionville, Missouri, the son of Lancet and Mabel Anders. Boyd married Betty Davis on June 30, 1946. Later in life, Janet Hungate was his longtime companion. Boyd worked at AMTEK for over 22 years. Boyd loved rehabbing houses and built new homes. He owned A&A Home Improvement. Boyd loved to recycle all kinds of things with his grandson Steve Anders. Boyd loved his dog “Princess”, enjoying many car rides with her. He enjoyed his family and all his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Those left to cherish his memory includes his son, Phil Anders (Judy) Geneseo; two daughters, Tina Anders, Silvis and Betty Mann, Silvis: six grandchildren, Christy (Kevin) Parker, Geneseo, Jennifer (Eddie) Poczik , Atkinson, Steve Anders, Moline, Ashley Anders, Carbon Cliff, Rick Anderson (Patty Spence), Colona, LeeAnn Klopp, Huntley; 11 great grandchildren, Melanie, Kelly and Brock Parker, Kylie Anders, Richie Short, Eddie, Coleman, and Elora Poczik, Michael and Mason Klopp, Lexi and Conner Anderson and “Lilly Antonio”; sisters, Ann (Howard) Nelson, Colona, Clara Krambeck, Silvis, Crystal Govas, Chicago; and brother, Leslie (JoAnn) Anders, Olympia, Washington. Boyd was preceeded in death by his parents; an infant son, Coleman; six brothers, Harley, Bob, Cliff, Walter, Neal, Fred ; two sisters Ruby and Kathy; and his longtime companion, Janet Hungate. Memorials may be made to Quad City Animal Welfare Center or the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association.
