Patricia R. Kunkel, 84, Marshalltown, IA, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at Grundy Center Memorial Hospital, Grundy Center, IA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 25, 2017, at St. Henry Catholic Church in Marshalltown. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 24, 2017, at Anderson Funeral Homes, 405 West Main Street, Marshalltown. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown.
Patricia was born December 6, 1932, in Marshalltown, to William and Gladys (Tansey) Weatherman. She graduated from Conrad High School in 1950. She worked at Commercial Bank in Marshalltown for several years. Patricia was united in marriage to Homer L. Kunkel on May 18, 1957, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Marshalltown by Father John Karal. The couple resided in Des Moines for 15 years before moving back to Marshalltown. Patricia was a bookkeeper for Fantles Clothing Store and Mowry & Irvine Law Firm.
She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, Council of Catholic Women, and Catholic Order of Foresters. Patricia enjoyed the Church, spending time with her grandchildren, and gardening.
Patricia will be missed by her three children, Debra Erwin of Sioux City, IA, Stephen Kunkel of Chicago, IL, and Sandra (Kenny) Sharp of Conrad, IA; her grandchildren, Stephanie Erwin, James and Joshua Sharp; her three brothers, Larry (Jeannie) Weatherman, Kenny (Sandy) Weatherman, and Bob (Barb) Weatherman; her four sisters, Janet (Don) Noack, Beverly Earl, Jeri Weatherman, and Doris Johnson; numerous nieces and nephews, and all of her wonderful friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer, her parents, her brothers, Richard and Rex Weatherman, and her sisters, Peggy Wolken, Betty Weatherman, Connie Weatherman, and Jeanne Lawler.
