Michael and Catherine and their children emigrated to the United States in 1849 and settled on Washington Mountain located between the towns of Lee and Washington, in Berkshire County, Massachusetts.
On 31 DEC 1861, at the age of 60 (according to her death record) or 62 (according to her grave monument), Catherine Burke Navin died of consumption, which is the old term for pulmonary tuberculosis. Descendants of Michael and Catherine Burke Navin survive to this day throughout the United States.
