Dianne Arthur Crews Jackson, 62, of Hurt died Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Virginia Baptist Hospital.

She was born January 10, 1952 in Lynchburg, Va, a daughter of the late Clyde Board Arthur and Doris Swain Arthur. She was an active member of Shockoe Baptist Church and New Bethel United Methodist Church. Dianne was a member of the graduating class of 1970 at Gretna High School and received her Medical Coding Certificate from Danville Community College. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, knitting, crocheting, cross-stitching and was an avid reader. She enjoyed various careers including being a cosmetologist, working at Burlington Industries (Klopman Mills Division), BandW and working as a Medical Transcriptionist.

She is survived by a son, Michael Lee Crews of Hurt; a daughter, Alyssa Crews Kurtz and her husband Kelly of Concord; three grandchildren, Ethan Young and Katie and Kyle Kurtz; a sister, Mary Ann Lanier of Hurt; a brother, William "Billy" Thomas Arthur of Hurt; and special friends, Susie Arthur Reynolds and Lorretta Mitchell; cousins, Penny Cochran Witcher and Carol Hedrick and three nephews, Matthew Arthur and his wife, Tracy and Daniel Lanier and his wife, Erin and David Arthur.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Janie Arthur Ellington and a brother, Wyatt Edward " Eddie" Arthur.

A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m., Friday, January 9, 2015 at New Bethel United Methodist Church by Rev. Dr. R.A. Dick Daily.
