Norma C. Hogan, age 83, of Rudolph, WI, passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her loving family on Monday, November 20, 2017.

Norma was born April 13, 1934 in the Town of Rudolph, WI, to Frederick and Minna (Marzofka) Hetzel. She married Paul Hogan on June 23, 1951 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. They were blessed with 61 years of marriage. Paul passed away on October 4, 2012.

Norma loved farming and enjoyed all her animals. She was very loving and caring and was always there for her family when they needed her. She was extremely proud of her large family and especially treasured her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She welcomed anyone who came into her home as extended family. Norma loved to bake homemade bread and buns. She liked to crochet and made table runners for everyone’s weddings. She also enjoyed building her large doll collection and going to area casinos to play slots and black jack. She had a strong sweet tooth, and held the belief that ice cream could heal all ailments, up to and including leg amputations. In earlier years, Norma loved to dance to polkas and waltzes.

Norma was a woman of strong faith. She served as a Sunday school teacher at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church and sang in the choir. In later years, she enjoyed watching church on the Christian television stations. Norma was truly one of a kind and made an impression on everyone she met. She will be especially remembered for her “million dollar” hugs.

Norma is survived by five sons: Andy (Margie) Hogan, Arnie Hogan, Allen (June) Hogan, Arlan (Robin) Hogan, Augie Hogan; two daughters: Annette Hogan and Audrey Hogan (Tim); daughter-in-law, Kathy Leher; 21 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert Hetzel; special friend, Richard “Gomer” Sedevic; and many other cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
