Glendora L. Slattery, 88, was born on April 26, 1918 to Glen and Iva (Jensen) Thompson at St. Luke's Hospital in Boise, Idaho. She died at her home of natural causes on March 17, 2007. Glendora was the oldest of two children. Her mother Iva and baby sister Dorthy both died from an illness when she was two years old. There will be a viewing for her friends and family from 12 until 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 22 at Summers Funeral Home at 1205 W. Bannock Street in Boise. A graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. at Terrace Lawn Cemetery on Fairview Avenue. On June 19, 1952 Glendora married Claude Slattery. They resided in Boise and were sweethearts and constant companions until Claude died on July 1, 1978. Upon her husbands death, Glendora remained in her home until 2003. At that time she moved into the home of Tim and Jo Lough and their family where she lived until her death. Glendora had been dear friends with the Lough family for over 30 years. She became an instant grandmother. She was loved by all of the Loughs and their extended family. Glendora was an active member of the Eagles Lodge. She loved to go to the potluck lunches and play cards. She also spent every Friday at the senior center downtown where she met with her friends and continued playing cards up until two weeks before her death. Her fondest memories were made there with her friends. We would like to thank the Eagles Lodge and the Senior Center for being so good to Glendora over the years. Glendora is survived by stepson Gary and Larren Price of Hailey, Idaho, grandchildren Mark and Wendy Angell, Debbie and Kerry Herzinger, and Wesly and Laura Price; also a stepson Bob and Marie Slattery of Tacoma, Wash., grandchildren Robert and Jeanne Slattery, Dexter and Darcy Slattery, Sharon and Joe Inda, and Bill and Robin Slattery; and stepdaughter Susan Brunton. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Glendora was preceded in death by her father, mother, baby sister, and her husband Claude Slattery. Glendora is also survived by her second family; Tim and Jo Lough, Jenni and Steve Kenley, Jason and Kristy Lough, Travis Lough, and Sarah Ludwig, Justin Lough, Tiffany Lough, Jamie Lough, and nine great-grandchildren, and the rest of the Lough family. Glendora will be missed by all who knew her. She was loved by many. We love you. God Bless You.
