Elizabeth Maxwell, wife of Silas Wessell, died at 5 o'clock Thursday afternoon at her home, # 33 Elizabeth Street, after an illness of three months of a complication of diseases. Mrs. Wessell was born 67 years ago in the town of Charleston and spent the greater part of her live in the vicinity of Charleston Four Corners. For the past ten years or so Amsterdam has been her home. Mrs. Wessell was possessed of many admirable qualities of womanhood that won and retained for her a high place in the regard of those who knew her.
She is survived by her husband and one son, Herman T Wessell of this city, one sister, Mrs. J.C. Allen, also of Amsterdam and five brothers, David B. of this city, Charles of Charleston Four Corners, John and Lewis of Ames and Able of Starkville. Funeral will be held at the house this evening. Interment will be in Sloansville.
