Mrs. Ruby Douglas passed away peacefully at her residence and was the last of nine children born to Thomas C. and Ella G. Loyd.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Charles E. Douglas. Survivors include her daughters Fonda J. Wise of Griffin, Ga and Mary Ella Douglas Nickell and her husband Charles A. "Drew" Nickell of Virginia Beach, Va.; two granddaughters , Tracy Svalina and her husband, John of Fairfield, Pa and Wendy Martin an her husband, Jerry Essenmacher of New London, Oh and her great-grandson Max Martin of New London, Pa. and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was a long time resident of Arlington and Virginia Beach, Va and spent her last years in Griffin, Ga. She had a long career as executive assistant and held positions with the Federal Bar Association in Washington, D.C. and R&R Battery Service in Arlington. She was a member of Pomona United Methodist Church and previously an active member and volunteer with Arlington Forest and Virginia Beach United Methodist Churches. She was a lifelong member of the Order of the Eastern Star serving in Hill Patrick Chapter No. 441, Griffin, Mary Washington Chapter 50 Arlington and Virginia Beach Chapter No. 75.
