Annie Drue Warnock Jenkins, 90, of Albany, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2017 at her residence.
Funeral services honoring the life of Annie will be conducted at 11 AM on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Kimbrell-Stern with interment to follow at Oakview Cemetery. Mr. George West, her brother, and Mr. Rick Doherty, her nephew, will officiate. The family will receive friends at Kimbrell-Stern on Tuesday beginning at 10 AM until the funeral hour.
Mrs. Jenkins was born November 13, 1927 to Claude and Mildred Warnock. She was a native of Baxley, GA, and she graduated from high school there. She attended Armstrong College in Savannah. While there, she became ill and moved to Albany. Shortly after coming to Albany, she met her husband James F. Jenkins and decided to make Albany her home. She began her career in 1945 with the telephone company and retired in 1985. Her home and family are paramount. She is a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Mrs. Jenkins was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Jenkins was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Mildred Warnock, her husband, James F. Jenkins, sisters, Estelle Hewitt, Betty Mitchell, Jean Odom, and Betty Jo Doherty.
Survivors include her daughter: Paula (Edward) Basko; grandsons: Chad (Taylor) Basko, Brad (Mary) Basko; great grandchildren: Everly Drue Basko, Branson Howell Basko, Hazel Drue Basko; brothers: Eli Claude Warnock, Larry Warnock, George West. Mrs. Jenkins’s family also want to express their appreciation for her caregivers, Melva and Helen.
