Norman F. Patterson, 87, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on November 15, 2017 at Promedica Bay Park Hospital. He was born on July 4, 1930 to Minor and Helen (Peinert) Patterson in Bowling Green, Ohio. He attended Fremont Ross High School and graduated from Waite High School. He played football for both schools. After high school Norm joined the Army. He started working for Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad in his 20's and later for CSX. In 1989, he retired after 30 years of working for the railroad.

Norman is survived by his wife of 55 years, Yvonne (Bonnie); children, Don (Nancy) Collins, Jennifer Patterson; grandchildren, Curt Collins, Greg Collins, Sydney Witek, Addison Witek; sister-in-law, Carol Patterson; Nicholas Okenka and many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters; Maynard, Robert, Richard, Veva and Janet.

Norm was known for his big heart, bright mind and his contagious smile. He was Dad and Papa to anyone he met. If you knew Norm, you loved him. He was an avid woodworker who loved turning presents on his lathe for everyone.

Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be private. Those wishing an expression of sympathy in Norman's name are asked to consider the Helping Hands of St. Louis, Toledo OH or the Toledo Humane Society.
