He was born in Willows, Calif., and came to Texas when he was in the Air Force. He attended TCU School of Nursing, and worked for 40 years as an RN. After his retirement from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine 12 years ago he enjoyed traveling and relaxing. He delighted in having projects at home, and helped his family and neighbors with their projects whenever he could. His dog Sassy Belle brought him great joy in his last year as he battled the effects of a stroke and heart attack. Floyd donated his body to medical research at UNT Health Science Center.
Survivors: He will be missed by his wife, Dianne, and her extended family; son, Robert Colburn; daughter, Kathy Richie; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
